Tango Del Cielo features Argentine Tango and Spanish Flamenco music arranged for harp and orchestra. It’s a concept that Anna Maria has been perfecting for several decades. The album gives special focus to the music of Astor Piazzolla as we approach the 100th Anniversary of his birth. Newly composed arrangements were created for Anna Maria by an all-star list of composers and personal friends of Piazzolla including; multi Grammy Award winner & Oscar nominee Jorge Calandrelli; multi Grammy-award winner Pablo Ziegler; multi Grammy nominee Jeremy Cohen of Quartet San Francisco, winner of the International Tango Competition; Michael Touchi and Vincent Russo. This dynamic album was recorded at Skywalker Sound Ltd. by multi Grammy award winning engineer Leslie Ann Jones, edited and mixed by Russell Bond, and mastered by Piper Payne.THE LIVE SHOW
With standing ovations nationwide and beyond, Tango Del Cielo, a unique theatrical music and dance program, features a fusion of Latin styles including Tango, Flamenco, Spanish Classical, and Latin Jazz. Performances feature award winning musicians and world champion dancers. The concerts pay homage to the era of silent film and are especially captivating, incorporating multi-media use of film art, staging, lighting and effects. Concerts can be formatted as a concerto element with orchestras or as its own self contained concert-show. The Tango Del Cielo show was the featured show at the 2019 World Tango Festival in Victoria, Canada. Outreach and engaging virtual concerts are available. We are thrilled to share that our new album Tango Del Cielo was submitted for consideration in this year's Latin Grammy Awards! The album has won 4 Global Music Awards (Silver Medalist for Album, Instrumentalist, Engineering/Mixing/Editing; and Bronze Medal for Music Video), 3 Clouzine International Music Awards including Best Classical Crossover Album. The music videos "Libertango" (2021) and "Oblivion" (2022) received First Place for Best Music Video Award by the Clouzine International Music Awards. The video "Oblivion" won the award for Most Artistic Video from LIT International Talent Awards and the show "Tango Del Cielo" won the 2021 Award for Best Show.
