She is the principal harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera and has played with orchestras and chamber music groups around the world. Ms. Mendieta has performed for the King and Queen of Spain, Pope Benedict XVI, President Clinton, President Gorbachev and other dignitaries. Anna Maria is internationally recognized as a pioneer in performing Argentine Tango music on the harp with praises from The American League of Symphony Orchestras as “an exceptional and charismatic performer.†Her creation of Tango Del Cielo has become an international award-winning album and the show is the focus of a documentary film. In 2024, she was honored to have her Tango Del Cielo Show filmed for a PBS Special to be broadcast later this year. Recent highlights also include her debut as concerto soloist at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Egypt.
Violinist Ingrid Tracy brings together diverse musical worlds with beauty, depth and authenticity. A violinist since the age of three, her musical journey spans classical, tango, jazz, contemporary and Celtic fiddle traditions. As the newest member of Anna Maria Mendieta’s internationally acclaimed “Tango Del Cieloâ€, she embraces the passionate essence of Argentine Tango. A devoted tanguera herself, Ingrid brings genuine understanding of tango’s intimate dialogue to her violin performances, blending classical precision with heartfelt improvisation. Ingrid is also a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic regularly performing classical and operatic works while her performances with contemporary folk-rock band “Proxy Moon†showcase her versatility across genres.
Beyond music, Ingrid works as a visual artist creating abstract paintings that explore human emotion through color and form. Her paintings offer contemplative spaces where viewers can connect with their own inner landscapes. Joining the concerts this year are the Marin Girls Chorus, a string quintet from the Marin Symphony, and harpist Anna Maria Mendieta. On the program are holiday favorites, old and new, and for the first time at the Candlelight Concerts, Gerald Finzi’s rarely-heard but spellbinding “Christmas Sceneâ€: In Terra Pax.
